Can I really learn to Dance?
Anyone who has the desire can learn it! We make learning as easy and fun as possible. Dancing can be very challenging, yet with
good instruction and a little patience, it is likely you will be out dancing after you get a few privates under your belt.

How do I begin?
If you are comfortable enough learning in front of others and making new friends is important to you, try a group class. It is
always a good idea to arrive a bit early to sign in and warm-up. Pre-registration is not necessary with any of Sultry Swing's
classes, so no need to call ahead.  If you feel you need a little personal help or are more interested in accelerating the learning
process then try starting with private lessons (a mixture of weekly group and private lessons is suggested), our qualified instructors
will tailor a program specifically for your needs and goals. Private lessons allow you to learn at an excellerated pace and keep you
from forming bad habits.

Do I need a dance partner to attend a group lessons?
No, you don’t need a partner. Students in group classes change partners throughout the lesson. This allows students to develop
their lead/follow skills – skills needed for social dancing. It also gives you the opportunity to make new friends.

How long will it take to learn to dance?
That depends on how much you put into it, learning to dance is a process, and people learn at different speeds! The more time you
spend dancing, the faster you’ll see results. I encourage students new to dancing to take a weekly class and private for the best
results when first trying to pick up dancing. In addition to classes and private lessons, there are some wonderful social dances you
can attend to watch experienced dancers and practice with new partners.

How should I dress for classes or private lessons?
Dress casually and comfortably in clothes you can move in freely and easily. If you’re new to dancing and don’t have dance shoes,
wear leather-soled shoes if possible (with a strap to hold your heel in) with a heel less than 2 inches high– they’ll be fine to start.

What are the benefits of social dancing?
The benefits of dancing are infinite and priceless.  Dancing helps with confidence, physical health, mental alertness, and is a great
place to create lifetime friendships.
